It was the same familiar story for our plucky side as we lost 80-0 to RGC – a regular five minutes or so of useful endeavour only for the north Wales team to ruthlessly exploit weak tackling once they regained possession. Twelve tries were the result and although we put some pressure on in their twenty two on times with our set piece doing OK we could not get a morale boosting score our undying effort deserved.

Of concern was the serious neck injury to their wing Tiaan Loots. From the first 999 call it took 90 minutes for a paramedic to arrive – something that speaks volumes for the system in Wales. We wish Liaam all the best.

There was nice occasion at start though where our little battler Cian Case made a surprise appearance and had his picture taken with the team.
